إعلان رسمي عن يوم عطلة جديد بمناسبة عيد الأضحى في المغرب

Morocco Adds Extra Eid Holiday

The Moroccan government has officially announced that Friday, May 29, 2026, will be an exceptional public holiday following Eid al-Adha, which falls on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

This decision aims to ease travel for citizens and allow families to celebrate together during one of the country’s most important religious occasions.

Based on Decree No. 2.05.916 of July 20, 2005, the measure extends the official break for public administrations and local authorities.

Employees and students will enjoy a four-day weekend, while some private companies may also adopt the same schedule.

Authorities expect heavy traffic and crowded stations across Morocco starting Tuesday evening, as people travel to their hometowns for the celebration.
